Level 3 Security Officer Training Course
35 hours instruction time; in-person time is two days (the remainder is online instruction*).
Topics include laws applying to armed security officers, use of force, escalation of force, conflict resolution, field notes, report writing, crime scene protection, patrol services, handcuffing and baton training. Students will take a written exam and qualify with their service pistol.
Students will be introduced to the Texas Online Private Security (TOPS) Portal and how to register and complete their licensing process with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Cost does not include firearm or ammunition.
Course cost $250 for pistol qualification only; $275 for pistol and shotgun qualification. Online Level II is included in this cost. A portion of the classroom training is also online.
*If you wish for in-person only, an additional classroom fee of $75 will be required.

A non-refundable $50 deposit is required in order to hold your seat in the course. The remainder is due at the beginning of class (cash or money order only, please).
If you have taken the Level II Course and the classroom portion of the Level III Course online within the past 90 Days (and have documentation indicating your successful completion), you will still require the in-person classroom portion (to include firearms qualification) to complete your training. We offer the remainder of the training for $175 ($200 if also qualifying with shotgun). Equipment rental not included in price.
